What We Believe

The vision of Thrive Ministries is to Multiply Healthy Leaders Worldwide by fostering knowledge, skills and character so they can be effective in changing their world for Christ.

We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the hope of mankind. Local churches, worldwide, are the stewards of the gospel. The most important job of the local church is to understand the gospel correctly, live it daily, and get it out to the earth.

We are called to church leaders. These include five-fold ministers, pastors/elders, deacons and various levels of ministry leaders. These men and women are heroes, doing the hard work of daily care for the church and kingdom advancement in their contexts. Our mission is to equip the church to multiply these leaders and thus to expand the kingdom of God in all nations where the Lord opens doors and establishes relationships for us.

We believe real learning, real growth and real ministry flow from relationships, and so our ministry is based on organic relationships. We value our ties with leadership teams around the world. We believe that the local church and networks of churches are autonomous. We are an equipping ministry, seeking to enrich these local ministries around the world. We do not have any authority or influence other than that which these local church leaders extend to us.

We do not do new things, we help existing things get better. We connect to and partner with leaders in many countries to enable them to train more leaders and plant churches in their areas. These leaders are heroes of the Kingdom – they know the needs of their context, they have the burden for their people, they are best equipped to reach them they own the ministry. We come alongside to help with encouragement and resources.

Statement of Faith

We have been enlightened, enriched, and edified by many streams of Christian truth, and do not seek to distinguish or divide ourselves from the other members of the Body of Christ. We feel, however, that those considering partnering with us should know the fundamental truths which we believe and seek to live by.

The Holy Bible is the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, the only true standard for the believer’s life and practice.

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, and His ascension to the right hand of the Father are our core teachings.

Man was created in the image of God and was tempted by Satan and fell, and therefore all humans have sinned and are sinful. Repentance toward God, faith in the work of Jesus Christ, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are essential for salvation.

It is the will of God that all believers should be filled with the Holy Spirit, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service, being separated from sin and the world, and fully dedicated to the will of God. This empowerment is a progressive experience throughout the life of the believer.

The power and gifts of the Holy Spirit are given for the edification of God’s people and to enable them to be effective witnesses in the world.

Jesus Christ will return and all persons will be resurrected, judged righteously by Him and receive eternal reward or punishment.

All Christians are called to be witnesses to the grace of God, and to preach the gospel to every person in obedience to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ.
